This idiosyncrasy can be noticed in its cobblestone streets, its restaurants, its craft shops and its peace, what makes Chaouen a faithful reflection of the essence of the north of Africa.
Then, visit the history-steeped town of Tetouan near Morocco’s Mediterranean coast on this private day trip from Tangier. With a private guide, soak up the Moroccan-Spanish flavor of this mountainside town, and hear about its Andalucian-influenced past and culture. Explore the UNESCO-listed ‘medina’ (old quarter), considered one of Morocco’s best-preserved, admire the whitewashed residences and colonial-era architecture of the new town, and enjoy free time to explore, eat, and souvenir-hunt in the souks and shops.
