This nexus between classic and modern, between the past and the present, is none other than <strong>the United Nations Square<\/strong>,\u00a0undeniably one of the most emblematic places in the city.<\/p>\n<p>Once built as a market by <strong>Joseph Marrast<\/strong> in 1920 and initially called <em>La Place de France<\/em>, the United Nations Square is one of the most visited spots of Casablanca, since together with the Mohamed V Square it occupies the city&#8217;s epicentre. This is proven by the fact that the square\u00a0occupies<strong> a privileged position among many streets<\/strong> of Casablanca, as\u00a0city&#8217;s main streets converge\u00a0on\u00a0this square: Mohamed V, Hassan II, F.A.R, Houphou\u00ebt-Boigny and Moulay-Hassan I.<\/p>\n<p>What is interesting is that the square can be crossed quickly through <strong>the underground passage<\/strong> that runs from one end to the other and is signaled by <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>futuristic-looking\u00a0Zevaco dome<\/strong>.
